Narrative:
We were given a clearance to go into position and hold on runway 35L at dfw. The controller then gave us a takeoff clearance but used the wrong flight number. I verified the takeoff clearance and flight number and then we began our takeoff. The aircraft on approach to runway 35L felt he was too close to us to land and elected to go around. The tower controller advised us to turn to a heading of 030 degrees when time and altitude permitted, and told the aircraft on the go around to maintain runway heading. The aircraft said he had us in sight. We started our turn and I was monitoring the TCASII as we turned. The aircraft on the go around was showing at our altitude and superimposed on the aircraft symbol. When we rolled wings level, the go around aircraft was at our altitude and 100- 200 ft horizontal separation. We did not have time to take evasive action but informed the tower that it was very close.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ACR MDT CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 35L AND AN ACFT ON FINAL FELT THAT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH SEPARATION AND EXECUTED A GAR. TWR CTLR ASSIGNED BOTH ACFT HDGS AND THE ACFT ON THE GAR SAID HE HAD THE ACR MDT IN SIGHT. CLOSEST PROX OF ACFT WAS SAME ALT AND 200 FT HORIZ SEPARATION.
Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO GO INTO POS AND HOLD ON RWY 35L AT DFW. THE CTLR THEN GAVE US A TKOF CLRNC BUT USED THE WRONG FLT NUMBER. I VERIFIED THE TKOF CLRNC AND FLT NUMBER AND THEN WE BEGAN OUR TKOF. THE ACFT ON APCH TO RWY 35L FELT HE WAS TOO CLOSE TO US TO LAND AND ELECTED TO GAR. THE TWR CTLR ADVISED US TO TURN TO A HDG OF 030 DEGS WHEN TIME AND ALT PERMITTED, AND TOLD THE ACFT ON THE GAR TO MAINTAIN RWY HDG. THE ACFT SAID HE HAD US IN SIGHT. WE STARTED OUR TURN AND I WAS MONITORING THE TCASII AS WE TURNED. THE ACFT ON THE GAR WAS SHOWING AT OUR ALT AND SUPERIMPOSED ON THE ACFT SYMBOL. WHEN WE ROLLED WINGS LEVEL, THE GAR ACFT WAS AT OUR ALT AND 100- 200 FT HORIZ SEPARATION. WE DID NOT HAVE TIME TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION BUT INFORMED THE TWR THAT IT WAS VERY CLOSE.
