Narrative:
During checks after engine start, copilot received taxi clearance from west ramp to runway 22 on north txwys. I was not listening closely as was preoccupied with some checks after starting. Copilot informed me of route of taxi, stating we should follow aircraft ahead of us. At hold line for runway 22R, I asked if we were cleared to cross and other pilot said yes. Slowly approaching runway 22R, tower said stop and we did -- just short of runway 22R, but past hold line. He informed us we had only been given clearance to runway 22R, not runway 22L. There was no traffic landing and we were given clearance to take off runway 22R. Thank goodness the tower controller caught this or I might have taxied in front of landing traffic. Next time out, I will pay attention and not expect the other pilot to be able to relay taxi clearance.

Title: CAPT OF AN ISRAELI ACFT ASTRA JET AJ25 OVERSHOT RWY HOLD LINE RESULTING IN TWR CTLR INTERVENING TO STOP ACFT BEFORE ENTERING THE ACTUAL RWY. THE CAPT BELIEVED THAT HE HAD CLRNC TO CROSS THE PARALLEL RWY FOR THE OTHER AFTER ASKING HIS FO. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT OR LNDG TFC.
Narrative: DURING CHKS AFTER ENG START, COPLT RECEIVED TAXI CLRNC FROM W RAMP TO RWY 22 ON N TXWYS. I WAS NOT LISTENING CLOSELY AS WAS PREOCCUPIED WITH SOME CHKS AFTER STARTING. COPLT INFORMED ME OF RTE OF TAXI, STATING WE SHOULD FOLLOW ACFT AHEAD OF US. AT HOLD LINE FOR RWY 22R, I ASKED IF WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS AND OTHER PLT SAID YES. SLOWLY APCHING RWY 22R, TWR SAID STOP AND WE DID -- JUST SHORT OF RWY 22R, BUT PAST HOLD LINE. HE INFORMED US WE HAD ONLY BEEN GIVEN CLRNC TO RWY 22R, NOT RWY 22L. THERE WAS NO TFC LNDG AND WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC TO TAKE OFF RWY 22R. THANK GOODNESS THE TWR CTLR CAUGHT THIS OR I MIGHT HAVE TAXIED IN FRONT OF LNDG TFC. NEXT TIME OUT, I WILL PAY ATTN AND NOT EXPECT THE OTHER PLT TO BE ABLE TO RELAY TAXI CLRNC.
