Narrative:
We were wbound from flo to cae, IFR at 10000 ft. Shaw approach control issued a TA for a flight of 4 F16's eastbound climbing VFR through our altitude. Saw the #1 aircraft pass high to our right. Never saw the #2 aircraft. Approach issued an advisory for the remaining 2 aircraft at 12 O'clock position and climbing through 8000 ft. TCASII gave an audible traffic alert just as we saw both aircraft straight ahead, lower and climbing directly at us. Barely had time to react. We went right between the F16's, each one passing approximately 150 ft off each wing. The F16 on our right broke left about 100-200 yards in front of us. Not sure if the other one even saw us, as they were looking somewhat into the sun. Much, much too close for comfort, and uncalled for, I believe, on the TRACON's part. They should have given us or them a turn or had them level off at 9500 ft.
