Narrative:
After starting and area clear, first officer informed me that we were cleared out. Taxied looking at new line after C-10 construction. First officer called my attention to right engine electronic control warning on EICAS. It took my attention from peripheral reference to the hold point and I taxied beyond it onto taxiway C. Stopped and controller informed us that we were taxiing without clearance. Obtained clearance and proceeded without problem. Problem caused by distraction, workload with checklists, warning and line not depicted on ground where C10 hold point is supposed to exist according to chart issued by the company. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: chart used was a special issue commercial, company, tailored chart. It showed where a hold short line used to be. The captain reports looking for the hold line to stop on. Then he wound up on the taxiway. Recent airport construction has removed the hold line. Pilot reports the hold line is present on alleyway C9 but missing on alleyway C10. The airport needs to repaint the hold line.
