Narrative:
Cleared to descend to 6000 ft from our previous altitude, the altitude alerter went off and I caught the altitude about the same time. A 350 ft lower than cleared altitude resulted. At the time, there were or was no unnecessary talking in the cockpit. The awareness in the cockpit was relaxed and I believe that was a factor. In addition, the autoplt altitude select was on and failed to capture altitude. Lesson learned, within 1000 ft, all attention to the task at hand.

Title: AN ATX LTT OVERSHOT ITS ASSIGNED ALT DURING A DSCNT PROC INTO BMI, IL.
Narrative: CLRED TO DSND TO 6000 FT FROM OUR PREVIOUS ALT, THE ALT ALERTER WENT OFF AND I CAUGHT THE ALT ABOUT THE SAME TIME. A 350 FT LOWER THAN CLRED ALT RESULTED. AT THE TIME, THERE WERE OR WAS NO UNNECESSARY TALKING IN THE COCKPIT. THE AWARENESS IN THE COCKPIT WAS RELAXED AND I BELIEVE THAT WAS A FACTOR.
