Narrative:
10-15 seconds after initial pushback, the airplane came to an abrupt stop. The captain was told to set brakes and he did. The tug driver told the captain he had struck a belt loader parked behind the airplane. After coordinating with the proper people, the aircraft was pulled back to the gate and the passenger deplaned.

Title: A COMMERCIAL FIXED WING MLG ACFT DURING PUSHBACK OP FROM THE DEP GATE STRUCK A BELT LOADER IMPROPERLY PARKED IN A RESTR AREA INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE ACFT.
Narrative: 10-15 SECONDS AFTER INITIAL PUSHBACK, THE AIRPLANE CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE CAPT WAS TOLD TO SET BRAKES AND HE DID. THE TUG DRIVER TOLD THE CAPT HE HAD STRUCK A BELT LOADER PARKED BEHIND THE AIRPLANE. AFTER COORDINATING WITH THE PROPER PEOPLE, THE ACFT WAS PULLED BACK TO THE GATE AND THE PAX DEPLANED.
