Narrative:

While taxiing to runway 5 at bhm, we requested and received from ground the following RVR values: touchdown 3500 ft, mid 6100 ft, rollout 0 ft. We referred to bhm 10-9A and our fom 3.346 (lower than standard takeoff minimums) and determined we were legal for takeoff on runway 5 with the given RVR values. After leveloff in cruise, the captain, while stowing his bhm charts, realized he had inadvertently used the data for runway 23. Runway 5 does not allow air carrier reduction below RVR 50 or 1 mi. I failed to back up the captain in determining the takeoff minimums. I was referring to the company manuals and did not look at the 10-9A page. Both aircrew need to back each other up and independently determine takeoff requirements.
