Narrative:
On returning to gate after pushback and engine start, captain shut down right engine, followed by inadvertent momentary shutdown of left engine (APU was not running). Fuel lever returned to start, yet engine wound down. Ground personnel notified us of a fire. Left engine egt noted at 780 degrees and rising. Fire handle pulled and 1 bottle fired. Temperature decreased, APU started and engine windmilled. Offloaded passenger without any further events.
