Flight attendant injury on duty. Past marte, gulf of mexico. Flight held down at FL290 due to reported turbulence at FL330 and above. In smooth air, aircraft encountered moderate to severe turbulence. Requested and descended to FL270. Ride smoothed out. 2 flight attendants received injuries.
