Narrative:
During taxi in to gate, #1 engine nacelle struck jetway. Found out the next morning that incident occurred. Just as we stopped, felt an unusual bump. We thought it was a chock. Next morning agent informed me that the marshaller had brought the aircraft too far forward and the jetway was out of position.

Title: A B737-500 TAXIING ON TO A GATE WITH GUIDANCE STRUCK AN IMPROPERLY PARKED JETWAY INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE #1 ENG INLET COWLING.
Narrative: DURING TAXI IN TO GATE, #1 ENG NACELLE STRUCK JETWAY. FOUND OUT THE NEXT MORNING THAT INCIDENT OCCURRED. JUST AS WE STOPPED, FELT AN UNUSUAL BUMP. WE THOUGHT IT WAS A CHOCK. NEXT MORNING AGENT INFORMED ME THAT THE MARSHALLER HAD BROUGHT THE ACFT TOO FAR FORWARD AND THE JETWAY WAS OUT OF POS.
