Narrative:
On approach under vectors into atl airport, an air carrier L1011 climbed toward our assigned altitude. ATC advised us to climb for evasive action. The aircraft passed below us by 600 ft. We returned to our assigned altitude and continued the flight uneventfully. ATC advised the L1011 flew through his assigned altitude. There was no further communication on the subject.

Title: NMAC RESULT OF INTRUDER L1011 OVERSHOOT TO ALT OF RPTR E120.
Narrative: ON APCH UNDER VECTORS INTO ATL ARPT, AN ACR L1011 CLBED TOWARD OUR ASSIGNED ALT. ATC ADVISED US TO CLB FOR EVASIVE ACTION. THE ACFT PASSED BELOW US BY 600 FT. WE RETURNED TO OUR ASSIGNED ALT AND CONTINUED THE FLT UNEVENTFULLY. ATC ADVISED THE L1011 FLEW THROUGH HIS ASSIGNED ALT. THERE WAS NO FURTHER COM ON THE SUBJECT.
