Narrative:
Traffic was called out to me after I made an assigned turn to the west with a leveloff at I believe 7000 ft. The traffic was acquired visually eastbound about 500 ft above and at the 1 O'clock position. I looked back inside the aircraft and received an RA from the TCASII system and saw the red arc on the top side of the vsi which displays the no transgress zone. At the same time, I heard 'increase climb,' no green band was displayed on the vsi. I climbed 200 ft, then leveled as the traffic passed off the right side about 300 ft above and to the right of my aircraft. I assumed that the TCASII had seen a descent in the conflicting traffic and changed the initial response to a climb. But no green band was ever displayed. During the initial response to the RA, I no longer had the VFR traffic in sight.

Title: A REGIONAL JET CL65 RECEIVED A TCASII RA DEPARTING VPS. THE RA MANEUVER DIRECTED A CLB INTO A VISUALLY ACQUIRED VFR ACFT.
Narrative: TFC WAS CALLED OUT TO ME AFTER I MADE AN ASSIGNED TURN TO THE W WITH A LEVELOFF AT I BELIEVE 7000 FT. THE TFC WAS ACQUIRED VISUALLY EBOUND ABOUT 500 FT ABOVE AND AT THE 1 O'CLOCK POS. I LOOKED BACK INSIDE THE ACFT AND RECEIVED AN RA FROM THE TCASII SYS AND SAW THE RED ARC ON THE TOP SIDE OF THE VSI WHICH DISPLAYS THE NO TRANSGRESS ZONE. AT THE SAME TIME, I HEARD 'INCREASE CLB,' NO GREEN BAND WAS DISPLAYED ON THE VSI. I CLBED 200 FT, THEN LEVELED AS THE TFC PASSED OFF THE R SIDE ABOUT 300 FT ABOVE AND TO THE R OF MY ACFT. I ASSUMED THAT THE TCASII HAD SEEN A DSCNT IN THE CONFLICTING TFC AND CHANGED THE INITIAL RESPONSE TO A CLB. BUT NO GREEN BAND WAS EVER DISPLAYED. DURING THE INITIAL RESPONSE TO THE RA, I NO LONGER HAD THE VFR TFC IN SIGHT.
