Narrative:
During rollout we felt the sudden pressure of the brakes being applied and knew the takeoff was being aborted. The plane began to shake and finally we stopped. The captain almost immediately informed everyone, via the PA system, that they had indications of an engine overheating and aborted the takeoff. We taxied back toward the terminal but did not continue to the gate as the left brakes were too hot and needed to cool. We were met by fire/emergency trucks. The brakes cooled before we continued to the gate where eventually the flight canceled.

THE CAPT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY INFORMED EVERYONE, VIA THE PA SYS, THAT THEY HAD INDICATIONS OF AN ENG OVERHEATING AND ABORTED THE TKOF. WE TAXIED BACK TOWARD THE TERMINAL BUT DID NOT CONTINUE TO THE GATE AS THE L BRAKES WERE TOO HOT AND NEEDED TO COOL. WE WERE MET BY FIRE/EMER TRUCKS.
