Narrative:
First officer flying manually on approach ILS runway 26R atl. I called localizer capture, first officer called for gear and flaps since we were vectored in high. I was busy configuring. Then checked the FMA and noted it had dropped out of the ILS mode to heading and altitude hold. I told the first officer to immediately turn right and he complied. I looked outside for conflicting traffic on ILS runway 27L in atl. There I saw a B767 abeam and below us. About that time approach called and told us to turn to 300 degree heading to reintercept the localizer and maintain 4000 ft MSL. We recaptured the localizer and GS for an uneventful landing.
