Primary Problem | Passenger Human Performance |
Narrative:
The passenger would not give flight attendant her name for her kosher meal. Passenger got irate, because she didn't like her meal. She kept calling flight attendant #2 crazy, and giving her a hard time. The passenger came back to the aft galley and pushed flight attendant #2. Flight attendant #2 came to the cockpit and was totally hysterical. The captain called security and they met the plane and escorted the passenger off the plane. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that she put down the destination of the segment wrong, that it was from miami to mexico city. When they arrived in mexico city, the airline management met the flight, and then were followed by the mexican police, who escorted the woman off. The flight attendant, who was shoved against the wall, was quite hysterical when she came up to the cockpit for support. The reporter stated that the kosher meals that are boarded are quite often still frozen, and they can't be unwrapped to be cooked by the flight attendants because they are kosher meals and can only be unwrapped by the passenger. This has caused these passenger to become very disgruntled and verbally abusive, like this woman. However, when this woman got on, she already was upset at the airline.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLT ATTENDANT RPT, B757, MIA-MEX, PAX VERBALLY AND PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED FLT ATTENDANT, POLICE MET FLT.
Narrative: THE PAX WOULD NOT GIVE FLT ATTENDANT HER NAME FOR HER KOSHER MEAL. PAX GOT IRATE, BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T LIKE HER MEAL. SHE KEPT CALLING FLT ATTENDANT #2 CRAZY, AND GIVING HER A HARD TIME. THE PAX CAME BACK TO THE AFT GALLEY AND PUSHED FLT ATTENDANT #2. FLT ATTENDANT #2 CAME TO THE COCKPIT AND WAS TOTALLY HYSTERICAL. THE CAPT CALLED SECURITY AND THEY MET THE PLANE AND ESCORTED THE PAX OFF THE PLANE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT SHE PUT DOWN THE DEST OF THE SEGMENT WRONG, THAT IT WAS FROM MIAMI TO MEXICO CITY. WHEN THEY ARRIVED IN MEXICO CITY, THE AIRLINE MGMNT MET THE FLT, AND THEN WERE FOLLOWED BY THE MEXICAN POLICE, WHO ESCORTED THE WOMAN OFF. THE FLT ATTENDANT, WHO WAS SHOVED AGAINST THE WALL, WAS QUITE HYSTERICAL WHEN SHE CAME UP TO THE COCKPIT FOR SUPPORT. THE RPTR STATED THAT THE KOSHER MEALS THAT ARE BOARDED ARE QUITE OFTEN STILL FROZEN, AND THEY CAN'T BE UNWRAPPED TO BE COOKED BY THE FLT ATTENDANTS BECAUSE THEY ARE KOSHER MEALS AND CAN ONLY BE UNWRAPPED BY THE PAX. THIS HAS CAUSED THESE PAX TO BECOME VERY DISGRUNTLED AND VERBALLY ABUSIVE, LIKE THIS WOMAN. HOWEVER, WHEN THIS WOMAN GOT ON, SHE ALREADY WAS UPSET AT THE AIRLINE.
