Narrative:
During pushback, we followed appropriate company checklists. As first officer, I was monitoring the engine parameters. At the conclusion of pushback, the ramp agent and captain exchanged parking brake set signals. The aircraft was stationary and then began to roll. We both applied the brakes, but only after contact had been made with tug and slight gear door damage occurred. I am not sure why this series of events took place, it appeared the parking brake was inoperative.
