Narrative:

In order to expedite departures and enhance the flow of traffic, tower is permitted to assign a vector heading to turboprop aircraft which diverges from the heading on the drk idp. At a point 5 mi east of the airport, the idp heading converges with the allowed vector heading. In this case, the B190, assigned heading 040 degrees from runway 8L converged on the B727. Due to terrain/MVA requirements, turns were not initially used. Visual separation was provided by the B190 pilot, which prevented a loss of standard IFR separation.
