Narrative:

On aug/xa/99, the flight crew of aircraft xyz, flight abc, made note of a pressurization failure. I researched the cause of the problem and discovered a faulty cabin pressurization controller. I removed and replaced the cabin pressure controller per B727-200 maintenance manual, and performed an operations check on the ground per B727-200 maintenance manual. On the evening of aug/xa/99, aircraft xyz flight XXX from ZZZ to wxx, the crew discovered a problem with the automatic pressurization system. The technician meeting the aircraft in wxx noticed the root of the problem was from shipping plugs that had been left on the cabin sense ports of the newly installed cabin pressure controller. The plugs were removed per standard maintenance practices and operations checked ok. I was the mechanic performing the initial removal and installation of the cabin pressure controller. During my procedure, I inadvertently forgot to remove the shipping plugs.

Title: A B727-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE AUTO PRESSURIZATION CONTROLLER REPLACED AND THE SHIPPING PLUGS STILL IN THE PRESSURE PORTS.

Narrative: ON AUG/XA/99, THE FLC OF ACFT XYZ, FLT ABC, MADE NOTE OF A PRESSURIZATION FAILURE. I RESEARCHED THE CAUSE OF THE PROB AND DISCOVERED A FAULTY CABIN PRESSURIZATION CONTROLLER. I REMOVED AND REPLACED THE CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLER PER B727-200 MAINT MANUAL, AND PERFORMED AN OPS CHK ON THE GND PER B727-200 MAINT MANUAL. ON THE EVENING OF AUG/XA/99, ACFT XYZ FLT XXX FROM ZZZ TO WXX, THE CREW DISCOVERED A PROB WITH THE AUTO PRESSURIZATION SYS. THE TECHNICIAN MEETING THE ACFT IN WXX NOTICED THE ROOT OF THE PROB WAS FROM SHIPPING PLUGS THAT HAD BEEN LEFT ON THE CABIN SENSE PORTS OF THE NEWLY INSTALLED CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLER. THE PLUGS WERE REMOVED PER STANDARD MAINT PRACTICES AND OPS CHKED OK. I WAS THE MECH PERFORMING THE INITIAL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF THE CABIN PRESSURE CONTROLLER. DURING MY PROC, I INADVERTENTLY FORGOT TO REMOVE THE SHIPPING PLUGS.
