Narrative:
Passenger sitting in seat xx became involved in the flight attendant and a passenger conversation about a piece of luggage. She informed him that it was none of his business and he started swearing at her. He told her he was going to slit her throat. I remained in my galley, as I observed her (the flight attendant) going forward to the cockpit. (I also observed him dabbing blood off his arm, with a cloth.) callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said that the man was probably mentally disturbed, and had a scary, threatening presence. He had just been released from the hospital, so she assumes that is why he had blood on his arm. The captain came back and confronted him, then made the decision to have the man forcibly removed from the flight.

Title: FLT ATTENDANT, B767-300, LAX-JFK, VERBALLY ABUSIVE PAX THREATENED TO KILL A FLT ATTENDANT WITH KNIFE.
Narrative: PAX SITTING IN SEAT XX BECAME INVOLVED IN THE FLT ATTENDANT AND A PAX CONVERSATION ABOUT A PIECE OF LUGGAGE. SHE INFORMED HIM THAT IT WAS NONE OF HIS BUSINESS AND HE STARTED SWEARING AT HER. HE TOLD HER HE WAS GOING TO SLIT HER THROAT. I REMAINED IN MY GALLEY, AS I OBSERVED HER (THE FLT ATTENDANT) GOING FORWARD TO THE COCKPIT. (I ALSO OBSERVED HIM DABBING BLOOD OFF HIS ARM, WITH A CLOTH.) CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THAT THE MAN WAS PROBABLY MENTALLY DISTURBED, AND HAD A SCARY, THREATENING PRESENCE. HE HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL, SO SHE ASSUMES THAT IS WHY HE HAD BLOOD ON HIS ARM. THE CAPT CAME BACK AND CONFRONTED HIM, THEN MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE THE MAN FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM THE FLT.
