Narrative:
Vibration on arrival written up by previous crew. Maintenance found pack ducting blown out and clamp broken. Aircraft returned to service. Passing through FL270 into sat, left engine began serious vibration. Flight attendants confirmed loud noise and vibration in tail section. Asked for priority landing to avoid an extended downwind. Engine left at idle until landing. Did not declare emergency.
