Narrative:
Were cleared to follow jet airway. It appeared from the very cluttered hi 5/6 chart for northeast, that airway was defined by 2 vors. Center said midway down airway, I think J51, that we were mi east off course. They cleared us direct to rbv. My, and copilot's, mistake was in missing a tiny bend in the airway at a third VOR. The chart is so crowded that it takes extreme care to read it correctly. I will hence try to ensure extreme care. It has always been my goal to do this. I think the cluttered chart was a contributing factor. The airway was from pxt to rbv. The overlooked VOR was eno.
