Narrative:
On oct/xa/99, I (XXX wwx) went to ZZZ, us, from den to work on aircraft xyz. I replaced the fuel control unit on #1 engine reference maintenance manual 73-21-01. After draining, capping and bagging the unsvcable fuel control unit, I placed it in the container it had arrived in. I filled out the install and replace tag and left the FCU in the cart where it was originally left for me at the OTS aircraft. This was all I had to do with the unsvcable FCU. I then worked to complete the required runs and tests for the fuel control unit change on aircraft xyz. After signing off logbook entries and returning aircraft to service, I went to a hotel. The next morning I flew back to den. Now I hear that someone shipped the unsvcable fuel control unit to den without correct hazmat paperwork. I did not ship the fuel control unit. I do not work for the stores departure at air carrier.
