Narrative:
Upon landing at cos, we were advised to exit runway 35R at taxiway E5 (a reverse high speed). Not knowing that taxiway E5 was a reverse high speed and it being unmarked on the runway 35R side of the runway, we passed it. Upon exiting taxiway E4 (marked taxiway) we heard another airliner going around due to our extended taxi on the runway. If the controller would have told us to exit on the next reverse high speed the situation wouldn't have arisen.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A REGIONAL JET PIC MISSES THE TWR CTLR DESIGNATED E5 TXWY TURNOFF FOR RWY 36R AND WHILE PROCEEDING TO TXWY E4, ANOTHER ACFT HAS TO GO AROUND BECAUSE OF INADEQUATE SPACING AT COS, CO.
Narrative: UPON LNDG AT COS, WE WERE ADVISED TO EXIT RWY 35R AT TXWY E5 (A REVERSE HIGH SPD). NOT KNOWING THAT TXWY E5 WAS A REVERSE HIGH SPD AND IT BEING UNMARKED ON THE RWY 35R SIDE OF THE RWY, WE PASSED IT. UPON EXITING TXWY E4 (MARKED TXWY) WE HEARD ANOTHER AIRLINER GOING AROUND DUE TO OUR EXTENDED TAXI ON THE RWY. IF THE CTLR WOULD HAVE TOLD US TO EXIT ON THE NEXT REVERSE HIGH SPD THE SIT WOULDN'T HAVE ARISEN.
