Narrative:
On the night of dec/xa/99 at XA40 local time. I landed on runway 25L at lax. On rollout, the controller requested I get off the runway at the next taxiway. This request was issued just (within seconds) after touchdown in order to clear for landing aircraft behind me. I attempted to accommodate the controller's request although my crew did not respond to his call due to workload at the time. I aggressively braked and slowed to a safe speed to turn the aircraft. At this point I had passed the high speed leadoff taxi line by about 20 ft. I turned the aircraft and proceeded directly to the taxiway. In doing so, I taxied across the pavement between the runway and the high speed taxiway turnoff, basically cutting the corner. At the same time that I committed the aircraft to going across the corner, the controller told the aircraft on approach to 'go around.' I then proceeded to taxi to the gate with tower controller telling us to contact ground control for further taxi instructions. Upon arrival at the gate, an a&P requested to inspect my aircraft for damage under advisement of the tower controller. There was no damage to my aircraft or to any reported by the controller to the runway and taxiway area. I did not in any way put my aircraft in an unsafe position. However, I did call the tower controller to ask why he suggested my aircraft be inspected for damage. He advised me that the concrete at the corner of the runway and taxiway was not intended for aircraft and wanted to be sure that the aircraft did not have tire damage due to debris in that area. Contributing factors include my unfamiliarity with lax, the nighttime environment reduced visibility, poor communication from the tower, and extremely tight separation of aircraft on approach. If I had been advised to plan for the first taxiway with minimum time on the runway, then I could have planned accordingly. I should have not tried to accommodate the tower's request and proceeded to the next taxiway. Poor planning of aircraft separation prompted the assertive request of the tower controller and could have been avoided or at least could have communicated his desires at a point in time prior to the landing touchdown.

Title: BA146 CREW TIRES TO COMPLY WITH REQUEST BY LAX TWR TO EXPEDITE OFF RWY. CUTS CORNER RESULTING IN ACFT INSPECTION, ARPT INSPECTION AND GAR BY TFC ON SHORT FINAL.
Narrative: ON THE NIGHT OF DEC/XA/99 AT XA40 LCL TIME. I LANDED ON RWY 25L AT LAX. ON ROLLOUT, THE CTLR REQUESTED I GET OFF THE RWY AT THE NEXT TXWY. I ATTEMPTED TO ACCOMMODATE THE CTLR'S REQUEST ALTHOUGH MY CREW DID NOT RESPOND TO HIS CALL DUE TO WORKLOAD AT THE TIME. I AGGRESSIVELY BRAKED AND SLOWED TO A SAFE SPD TO TURN THE ACFT. AT THIS POINT I HAD PASSED THE HIGH SPD LEADOFF TAXI LINE BY ABOUT 20 FT. I TURNED THE ACFT AND PROCEEDED DIRECTLY TO THE TXWY. UPON ARR AT THE GATE, AN A&P REQUESTED TO INSPECT MY ACFT FOR DAMAGE UNDER ADVISEMENT OF THE TWR CTLR. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO MY ACFT OR TO ANY RPTED BY THE CTLR TO THE RWY AND TXWY AREA. I DID NOT IN ANY WAY PUT MY ACFT IN AN UNSAFE POS. HOWEVER, I DID CALL THE TWR CTLR TO ASK WHY HE SUGGESTED MY ACFT BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE. POOR PLANNING OF ACFT SEPARATION PROMPTED THE ASSERTIVE REQUEST OF THE TWR CTLR AND COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED OR AT LEAST COULD HAVE COMMUNICATED HIS DESIRES AT A POINT IN TIME PRIOR TO THE LNDG TOUCHDOWN.
