Narrative:
It was late at night and raining. Though inspection was completed, in the hurry to get home (we had been working all day), we signed for items which were previously done and which we did not have to accomplish. On reviewing the paperwork a few days later, I discovered the error, but by that time a copy of the work order package including our signoffs was submitted to the FAA by mistake. I corrected the items in question on the original paperwork by crossing and initialing. In order to eliminate such occurrences, some time should be allotted after work is done for signing so that fatigue is not a factor.
