Narrative:

2 pilot reports in aircraft logbook. 1) right standby engine egt indication reads low. 2) right EPR flashes .39 in digital window. Analog portion of reading normal, standby normal. Entire display ok 9/10 of the time. Both items were deferred, and though all engine parameters worked normal on the second EICAS compartment, it was (aircraft) released with a misinterp of the MEL.

Title: A B757-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE R ENG STANDBY EGT AND NORMAL DIGITAL EPR INDICATION DEFERRED AS INOP IN CONFLICT WITH THE MEL REQUIREMENTS.

ENTIRE DISPLAY OK 9/10 OF THE TIME. BOTH ITEMS WERE DEFERRED, AND THOUGH ALL ENG PARAMETERS WORKED NORMAL ON THE SECOND EICAS COMPARTMENT, IT WAS (ACFT) RELEASED WITH A MISINTERP OF THE MEL.
