Narrative:
At about 200 ft AGL after takeoff, an engine flamed out. I declared an emergency with mem tower, informed them of the problem and requested vectors back to the airport for landing, and requested that the emergency equipment be standing by. We ran the engine failure emergency checklist and could not get the engine restarted. I briefed the lead flight attendant of the problem and also made a PA to the passenger. We made an uneventful flaps 25 degree landing on runway 36L and taxied to the gate. I made a write-up in the aircraft maintenance logbook and briefed the mechanics that met the aircraft. The first officer and the 3 flight attendants all did an exceptional job in this stressful situation.
