Narrative:
While working on aircraft xyz #1 engine fuel pump on feb/wed/00, I completed an engineering order which entailed changing the engine driven fuel pump. Work was completed the morning of feb/thu/00. Aircraft departed with no problems encountered. While working the night of feb/thu/00, 2 fellow co-workers were working the same engineering order on a different aircraft. They brought to my attention, a step in the preflight handbook that I misinterpreted the night before. The step included a power run, which I did not complete, in entirety, due to misinterp of the preflight handbook. The following evening (feb/thu/00) I checked aircraft history. No trouble noted with the involved engine. The coordinator was contacted and the aircraft was set up for the missed step.
