Narrative:
During a VFR flight from chicago schaumburg (06C) to chicago meigs (cgx) I inadvertently entered the western edge of the chicago midway (mdw) class B airspace before establishing 2-WAY radio contact with the midway controling facility. I originally intended to circumnav around the south end of the airspace, but due to the moderate turbulence experienced, I decided to take a more direct route around the north side of the airspace. However, due to a strong tailwind with distractions from turbulence and the need to maintain a good visual scan for traffic, I penetrated the class B airspace before I was able to call and establish contact with the midway tower. Although no conflicts were created, it was nonetheless, a clear violation and 'screw-up' on my part. I believe this occurrence happened due to my desire to save time and not paying close enough attention to my location. In the future, I will conduct this flight on an IFR flight plan or make a better effort to contact the appropriate controller much sooner.

Title: SMT PLT HAD ORD CLASS B INCURSION.
Narrative: DURING A VFR FLT FROM CHICAGO SCHAUMBURG (06C) TO CHICAGO MEIGS (CGX) I INADVERTENTLY ENTERED THE WESTERN EDGE OF THE CHICAGO MIDWAY (MDW) CLASS B AIRSPACE BEFORE ESTABLISHING 2-WAY RADIO CONTACT WITH THE MIDWAY CTLING FACILITY. I ORIGINALLY INTENDED TO CIRCUMNAV AROUND THE S END OF THE AIRSPACE, BUT DUE TO THE MODERATE TURB EXPERIENCED, I DECIDED TO TAKE A MORE DIRECT RTE AROUND THE N SIDE OF THE AIRSPACE. HOWEVER, DUE TO A STRONG TAILWIND WITH DISTRACTIONS FROM TURB AND THE NEED TO MAINTAIN A GOOD VISUAL SCAN FOR TFC, I PENETRATED THE CLASS B AIRSPACE BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO CALL AND ESTABLISH CONTACT WITH THE MIDWAY TWR. ALTHOUGH NO CONFLICTS WERE CREATED, IT WAS NONETHELESS, A CLR VIOLATION AND 'SCREW-UP' ON MY PART. I BELIEVE THIS OCCURRENCE HAPPENED DUE TO MY DESIRE TO SAVE TIME AND NOT PAYING CLOSE ENOUGH ATTN TO MY LOCATION. IN THE FUTURE, I WILL CONDUCT THIS FLT ON AN IFR FLT PLAN OR MAKE A BETTER EFFORT TO CONTACT THE APPROPRIATE CTLR MUCH SOONER.
