Narrative:
I would like air carrier to discontinue the new procedure requiring the PF to respond to all items on the before landing checklist. This is supposed to increase safety in the area of pilot awareness but it greatly reduces safety in another area. It distracts the PF from flying the aircraft, multiple times, during the critical final approach. I believe that this new procedure overall reduces safety. I suggest using the old procedure with one change, have both pilots respond to the spoiler lever tab.
