Narrative:
Engine failure/diversion. Climbing out of dfw, we were using the airfoil and engine anti-ice. About FL280 the right ice protection temperature low light illuminated. We ran the procedure. About FL310 we entered clear air, iced the tail and secured the anti-ice. About 30 seconds later there was a loud bang. The right side gauges were normal, except for 1.2 EPR's. A flight attendant advised us of sparks from the right engine. We shut the engine down, declared an emergency, and diverted to shv uneventfully.
