Narrative:
After receiving aircraft at gate and conferring with captain, I found that the APU had an advisory message 'oil level low' and that the paper for printer needed to be restocked. Nothing was said about right wing navigation light position #2 as being inoperative. After getting lift truck and putting it in position under APU for servicing of APU, I started to raise platform and got to just high enough to open shroud. The engine on lift truck quit. After getting platform down and determining that it was out of gas, I called for servicing of truck. Time was running out for a very simple operation and I let the problem of truck get in the way of doing my job. I finally got the APU svced and then had to do a daily check on aircraft. I was just able to get book signed before pushback. I was allowing myself to be hurried and neglected to notice first item in logbook was right navigation light position #2 inoperative. I pulled log page and sent aircraft on its way.
