Narrative:
During vectors for WX avoidance clearance given to hoosier VOR direct ind. DME indicated over oom (5.0 DME) then turn made to ind. Controller questioned turn to ind stating we penetrated restr airspace. We informed him of our DME reading but we had selected vhp. Controller informed us airspace was not hot.
