Narrative:
We were cleared into position and hold on runway 27L at ord and were told that landing traffic on runway 14R would hold short of our runway. I declined the clearance and first was told I would have to taxi to the 'penalty' box until there were no more arrs on runway 14R. I said, 'ok' and then was told to 'position and hold' again and ATC would wait for a 'break.' the controller complained that I should have told them earlier of our intentions. She was correct. She then told us that they 'weren't going to play that game.' I told her that this is no game. She said I could discuss it with her supervisor if I wanted to, and I told her 'likewise.' we then departed uneventfully. This is serious business and not a game. I take great exception to the controller's attitude -- very unprofessional.
