Narrative:
We landed perhaps without a landing clearance. When we were handed off to tocumen tower and after landing we were told we landed without a landing clearance. I was flying and was experiencing a 'black hole' effect. I did have the thought -- are we cleared to land? I looked over at a reminder (the wheel well light switch) and it was on -- cleared to land. The mistake I made was in CRM. I should have 'tested my assumption' and asked the first officer to verify. The longer I fly the more I need to use the tools I know!
