Distraction by radio call and navigation charts. Descended through assigned altitude by 300-400 ft before realizing excursion. Climbed back to altitude, but not before being requested by ATC. No conflict was noted from TCASII or from ATC.

Narrative: DISTR BY RADIO CALL AND NAV CHARTS. DSNDED THROUGH ASSIGNED ALT BY 300-400 FT BEFORE REALIZING EXCURSION. CLBED BACK TO ALT, BUT NOT BEFORE BEING REQUESTED BY ATC. NO CONFLICT WAS NOTED FROM TCASII OR FROM ATC.
