Narrative:
On departure from rno were cleared direct fmg VOR flight plan route. +/-10 mi from fmg I asked the PNF the outbound course from fmg. He misread the flight plan due to its faint print and told me 200 degrees. In fact it should have been 182 degrees. By the time the discrepancy was resolved, the only other place the course was shown was on the arrival to oak. We were about 6 mi off course. No conflicts with terrain or other aircraft. Moral: don't accept lousy copies of flight plans.

Title: B727 CREW HAD TRACK DEV ON DEP FROM RNO.
Narrative: ON DEP FROM RNO WERE CLRED DIRECT FMG VOR FLT PLAN RTE. +/-10 MI FROM FMG I ASKED THE PNF THE OUTBOUND COURSE FROM FMG. HE MISREAD THE FLT PLAN DUE TO ITS FAINT PRINT AND TOLD ME 200 DEGS.
