Narrative:
On first officer upgrade, turning base at dfw, check airman told me he changed the approach frequency in error and was switching tower. After switching tower, we received a vector and a switch back to approach. Approach gave us another vector on course and we landed as per standard procedures. On deck, the check airman briefly addressed the issue with tower. Tower said no problem.
