Narrative:
Taxied past a single parking lot cone onto a taxiway (questionably) closed for launch of an airship. Never came close to the hood blimp or its crew. (I wonder if they actually asked the airways facilities manager to close the taxiway.) I'm not super-familiar with the field, which was quite busy with brunch traffic, this didn't help. I suggest that a NOTAM indicating taxiway closure, a real effort to mark the taxiway, and a crew man and/or airship pilot with a radio tuned to the unicom frequency might have helped. Since I'm sure these guys travel all over the place, it might be nice to track them down and ask them to either keep out of the way or work harder to keep other people out of their way. Before something bad happens.

Title: PLT OF A MOONEY M20R, CONCERNED ABOUT AN AIRSHIP ON TXWY FOR LAUNCHING WITH ONLY CONES THAT DESIGNATING THE TXWY WAS CLOSED.
Narrative: TAXIED PAST A SINGLE PARKING LOT CONE ONTO A TXWY (QUESTIONABLY) CLOSED FOR LAUNCH OF AN AIRSHIP. NEVER CAME CLOSE TO THE HOOD BLIMP OR ITS CREW. (I WONDER IF THEY ACTUALLY ASKED THE AIRWAYS FACILITIES MGR TO CLOSE THE TXWY.) I'M NOT SUPER-FAMILIAR WITH THE FIELD, WHICH WAS QUITE BUSY WITH BRUNCH TFC, THIS DIDN'T HELP. I SUGGEST THAT A NOTAM INDICATING TXWY CLOSURE, A REAL EFFORT TO MARK THE TXWY, AND A CREW MAN AND/OR AIRSHIP PLT WITH A RADIO TUNED TO THE UNICOM FREQ MIGHT HAVE HELPED.
