Narrative:
I received a letter from the FAA regarding an altitude deviation on may/tue/00. As a flight crew we have no recollection of any such deviations. Therefore, the controller's equipment or our transponder were inoperative. It is also possible a clearance was given which we never heard, etc. We have made no errors.
