Narrative:
Right recirculation fan failed. 5 mins later, #1 flight attendant entered cockpit and said there was heavy smoke in cabin and thought that it was originating from mid galley coffee maker. Declared emergency. Diverted to slc. No injuries or fatalities. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said that the source of smoke was determined to be from the failed recirculating fan which is located just below the galley where the smoke appeared and shares the same bulkhead wall below the floor.
