Narrative:
Departure from san luis obispo county airport at 1200-1300 ft heard loud 'pop.' came from right wing, root area. No change in gauges. All remained in the green. No aircraft handling problems/concerns. However felt this could have been 'blown-out' right main tire. Diverted to fat. Tower 'low pass to check tires.' performed low pass next to tower. 'All intact' said tower, go around and landed uneventfully at fat, taxied to FBO. No problems idented. Subsequent departure uneventful.

Title: A GA PVT PLT DIVERTS TO FAT TO PERFORM A FLY-BY FOR A GEAR CHK, CHKING FOR A BLOWN TIRE AFTER HE HEARS A LOUD 'POP' FROM NEAR HIS R WING ROOT ON DEP FROM SBP, CA.
Narrative: DEP FROM SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY ARPT AT 1200-1300 FT HEARD LOUD 'POP.' CAME FROM R WING, ROOT AREA. NO CHANGE IN GAUGES. ALL REMAINED IN THE GREEN. NO ACFT HANDLING PROBS/CONCERNS. HOWEVER FELT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN 'BLOWN-OUT' R MAIN TIRE. DIVERTED TO FAT. TWR 'LOW PASS TO CHK TIRES.' PERFORMED LOW PASS NEXT TO TWR.
