Narrative:
Upon arriving at aircraft, completed preflight duties. Aircraft and gpu were operating normally. Started #2 engine with normal operational procedures. During start, internal turbine temperature (itt) rapidly increased to exceed temperature limitation. Engine was shut down with company procedures being followed. Maintenance was notified and maintenance entry was placed in aircraft maintenance log. Aircraft was taken OTS for repairs. Contributing factors: outside temperature was approximately 100 degrees, poor performance from gpu, slow acceleration on engine.

Title: HOT START ON A HOT DAY IN DALLAS.
Narrative: UPON ARRIVING AT ACFT, COMPLETED PREFLT DUTIES. ACFT AND GPU WERE OPERATING NORMALLY. STARTED #2 ENG WITH NORMAL OPERATIONAL PROCS. DURING START, INTERNAL TURBINE TEMP (ITT) RAPIDLY INCREASED TO EXCEED TEMP LIMITATION. ENG WAS SHUT DOWN WITH COMPANY PROCS BEING FOLLOWED. MAINT WAS NOTIFIED AND MAINT ENTRY WAS PLACED IN ACFT MAINT LOG. ACFT WAS TAKEN OTS FOR REPAIRS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: OUTSIDE TEMP WAS APPROX 100 DEGS, POOR PERFORMANCE FROM GPU, SLOW ACCELERATION ON ENG.
