Narrative:
Runway 15/33 closed. I crossed the hold line on taxiway D. Tower advised me of what I did and told me to hold short of the runway. I was able to stop the aircraft short of the runway. There were no other aircraft in the pattern and I continued to taxi after contacting the tower for back taxi. The reason why I taxied across the hold short line is as follows: ground told me to taxi to runway 11. Orh is a new airport for us and it has been 5+ yrs since I have flown out of an airport where you have to back taxi for takeoff. If the ground controller would have instructed me to taxi runway 11 via taxiway D and hold short on taxiway D contact tower for back taxi, I would have clearly understood his instructions. I will not make the same mistake next week.

Title: RWY INCURSION AT ORH, MA, WHEN CLRED TO TAXI TO A RWY.
Narrative: RWY 15/33 CLOSED. I CROSSED THE HOLD LINE ON TXWY D. TWR ADVISED ME OF WHAT I DID AND TOLD ME TO HOLD SHORT OF THE RWY. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE ACFT SHORT OF THE RWY. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT IN THE PATTERN AND I CONTINUED TO TAXI AFTER CONTACTING THE TWR FOR BACK TAXI. THE REASON WHY I TAXIED ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE IS AS FOLLOWS: GND TOLD ME TO TAXI TO RWY 11. ORH IS A NEW ARPT FOR US AND IT HAS BEEN 5+ YRS SINCE I HAVE FLOWN OUT OF AN ARPT WHERE YOU HAVE TO BACK TAXI FOR TKOF. IF THE GND CTLR WOULD HAVE INSTRUCTED ME TO TAXI RWY 11 VIA TXWY D AND HOLD SHORT ON TXWY D CONTACT TWR FOR BACK TAXI, I WOULD HAVE CLRLY UNDERSTOOD HIS INSTRUCTIONS. I WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE NEXT WK.
