Narrative:
We were rted from mci to dfw via a westerly route to avoid WX. We were flying to gag-sps and the ukw 4 arrival. In planning the arrival, the first officer and I planned for a 130000 pound landing, and speeds were set. On the arrival, the WX improved and we were able to cut the corner and go direct to bowie. On short final, the checklist was complete. I made a quick check and noticed the totalizer showed 130600 pounds. Because I was flying and the WX was good and the runway was long, I decided to do a minimum descent landing. The landing was normal in all respects. Upon reflection, even though I felt the landing could be done safely, my spur of the moment decision to land was wrong. Perhaps it was the third leg of the day, after avoiding WX for those 3 legs. Perhaps it was the desire to get back on schedule. Whatever the reason, I feel that if I had not been rushed earlier in the approach, I like to think I would have abandoned the approach for one turn to burn a little gas.

Title: OVERWT LNDG AT DFW, TX.
Narrative: WE WERE RTED FROM MCI TO DFW VIA A WESTERLY RTE TO AVOID WX. WE WERE FLYING TO GAG-SPS AND THE UKW 4 ARR. IN PLANNING THE ARR, THE FO AND I PLANNED FOR A 130000 LB LNDG, AND SPDS WERE SET. ON THE ARR, THE WX IMPROVED AND WE WERE ABLE TO CUT THE CORNER AND GO DIRECT TO BOWIE. ON SHORT FINAL, THE CHKLIST WAS COMPLETE. I MADE A QUICK CHK AND NOTICED THE TOTALIZER SHOWED 130600 LBS. BECAUSE I WAS FLYING AND THE WX WAS GOOD AND THE RWY WAS LONG, I DECIDED TO DO A MINIMUM DSCNT LNDG. THE LNDG WAS NORMAL IN ALL RESPECTS. UPON REFLECTION, EVEN THOUGH I FELT THE LNDG COULD BE DONE SAFELY, MY SPUR OF THE MOMENT DECISION TO LAND WAS WRONG. PERHAPS IT WAS THE THIRD LEG OF THE DAY, AFTER AVOIDING WX FOR THOSE 3 LEGS. PERHAPS IT WAS THE DESIRE TO GET BACK ON SCHEDULE. WHATEVER THE REASON, I FEEL THAT IF I HAD NOT BEEN RUSHED EARLIER IN THE APCH, I LIKE TO THINK I WOULD HAVE ABANDONED THE APCH FOR ONE TURN TO BURN A LITTLE GAS.
