Narrative:

A passenger was perceived to be drunk by the boarding agent who informed the boarding flight attendant not to board her. Then a supervisor said passenger was ok and could be boarded. We were only told that passenger was a 'problem' or 'nuts.' the passenger was served 2 bottles of wine and then the problems started. All the passenger in the area complained of her erratic behavior, and after her trips to lavatories, cigarettes (burnt) were found in the towel bins and she smelled of smoke. After the fact, we were told by a business class passenger that she had slapped him in the face, because he wouldn't talk to her. This also took place in the lounge area in lhr. Per the far 121, she should never have been boarded when appearing to be drunk. The supervisor was wrong in overriding the agent. The agent and boarding flight attendant should have told the purser and other flight attendants and captain, that she appeared drunk. Police met the flight and she was hand-cuffed. She also had some sort of confrontation with our captain when she stormed up to business class from her coach seat and demanded to be allowed to smoke.
