Narrative:
We were taxiing to runway 17R at aus and there was confusion about our clearance to den. We were told to contact clearance delivery during taxi. As we approached the run-up area we switched to the tower frequency and told them we still needed to complete our checklists. Accordingly, I began to move into the run-up pad and slow my taxi. We finished the checklists quickly and I began to taxi up to and hold short. As I was approaching the hold bars, I saw a cessna 310 passing by my right side at approximately 20 KTS. He passed within approximately 15-20 ft of the nose of my airplane and entered runway 17R. We had heard an airplane cleared for takeoff while we were finishing our checklists, but did not hear a runway number associated with the takeoff clearance. The surprise of the other airplane required me to make a rather sudden stop. Luckily, the flight attendants had completed their safety demonstrations and were in their seats.

Title: FLC OF AN ACR LGT WERE STARTLED WHILE WAITING AT HOLD LINE WHEN A CESSNA 310, TAXIING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPD, TAXIED PAST, BARELY MISSING THEIR R WING, ONTO THE RWY.
Narrative: WE WERE TAXIING TO RWY 17R AT AUS AND THERE WAS CONFUSION ABOUT OUR CLRNC TO DEN. WE WERE TOLD TO CONTACT CLRNC DELIVERY DURING TAXI. AS WE APCHED THE RUN-UP AREA WE SWITCHED TO THE TWR FREQ AND TOLD THEM WE STILL NEEDED TO COMPLETE OUR CHKLISTS. ACCORDINGLY, I BEGAN TO MOVE INTO THE RUN-UP PAD AND SLOW MY TAXI. WE FINISHED THE CHKLISTS QUICKLY AND I BEGAN TO TAXI UP TO AND HOLD SHORT. AS I WAS APCHING THE HOLD BARS, I SAW A CESSNA 310 PASSING BY MY R SIDE AT APPROX 20 KTS. HE PASSED WITHIN APPROX 15-20 FT OF THE NOSE OF MY AIRPLANE AND ENTERED RWY 17R. WE HAD HEARD AN AIRPLANE CLRED FOR TKOF WHILE WE WERE FINISHING OUR CHKLISTS, BUT DID NOT HEAR A RWY NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH THE TKOF CLRNC. THE SURPRISE OF THE OTHER AIRPLANE REQUIRED ME TO MAKE A RATHER SUDDEN STOP. LUCKILY, THE FLT ATTENDANTS HAD COMPLETED THEIR SAFETY DEMONSTRATIONS AND WERE IN THEIR SEATS.
