Narrative:
We were given, by chicago approach control, a clearance to cross 5 mi south of chicago heights VOR at 6000 ft. Because we were preoccupied with other duties, the descent was started too late to make the crossing restr. After ATC saw we were unable to make restr, he told us to maintain 6000 ft, normal rate. Should have been more attentive to flying the airplane!
