Narrative:
On IFR flight plan, at 1600 ft radar vectors to VOR-B approach at pbi. While attempting to listen to ATIS and pbi approach at the same time, I pushed the wrong button and heard only ATIS. When I discovered my error I corrected it and heard a very angry and unprofessional controller who verbally sparked me pretty good. I confess to my mistake, but this guy's handle was uncalled for. Anyway the rest of the approach went fine. In future, I am going to ask for a temporary frequency change and not even try to listen to 2 radios at once. It's too hard to do!
