Narrative:
After programming FMS, were given new release. New release had change in routing. Old release was sax J6, new release was sax ths. Should have caught change but was very fatigued. To compound the error, pre-departure clearance was unavailable and clearance from ground clearance delivery was 'cleared as filed.' if pre departure clearance had come, it would have shown the new route. Fatigue plus last min change plus no pre departure clearance, equals navigation error. After sax, we proceeded for a short time down J6 when we should have gone to ths. ATC questioned our route, we caught the error, and proceeded on course.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A300 CREW HAD TRACK DEV IN ZBW CLASS A.
Narrative: AFTER PROGRAMMING FMS, WERE GIVEN NEW RELEASE. NEW RELEASE HAD CHANGE IN ROUTING. OLD RELEASE WAS SAX J6, NEW RELEASE WAS SAX THS. SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT CHANGE BUT WAS VERY FATIGUED. TO COMPOUND THE ERROR, PRE-DEP CLRNC WAS UNAVAILABLE AND CLRNC FROM GND CLRNC DELIVERY WAS 'CLRED AS FILED.' IF PDC HAD COME, IT WOULD HAVE SHOWN THE NEW RTE. FATIGUE PLUS LAST MIN CHANGE PLUS NO PDC, EQUALS NAV ERROR. AFTER SAX, WE PROCEEDED FOR A SHORT TIME DOWN J6 WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THS. ATC QUESTIONED OUR RTE, WE CAUGHT THE ERROR, AND PROCEEDED ON COURSE.
